Whew, he certainly does pack an awful lot in to his course, but sometimes too much information can be overwhelming. So, is the Vertical Project just full of mumbo jumbo nonsense or is it the real deal?

 


The Vertical Project has come a long way since Version 1 in 2003. And the man behind it Luke Lowrey is very well known and respected within the basketball community. He has appeared on ESPN, Slam Magazine, and has been interviewed about his amazing vertical leap program by NBA Hall-Of-Famer, Rick Barry on Sirius Official NBA Radio.

The program as already mentioned above is very detailed and covers all the major compenents of any thorough vertical leap training program; training, recovery & nutrition.

The training element is made up of exact rep, set and rest calculations. This is designed to get the most from your training time. In fact is is optimised to you and as such will help you see results quicker than other programs. And within the training time, 3 days are dedicated to the upper body and 3 days to the main leg muscles involved in jumping. With so much time spent in training it could affect your recovery time, so bear that in mind.

The program also shows you how to really max out your vertical leaps by detailed and precise techniques, some old and some new that include; plyometrics, water training, isometrics and a previously unused technique of 'dead start' lifts.

And with you recovery the program goes into great detail through a concept known as the Window Plan. This incorporates a number of different recovery techniques and how the absorption of nutrients, and not necessarily the type of nutrients can help to dramatically increase vertical leap.

The overall methods behind the program allow you to customise it to yourself. And you can pick one of 9 different training routines which can be covered over 3 sets of 5 week training periods.

Although there is a lot packed into the Vertical Project it is well laid out and easy to follow, which is a must given the amount of information and Bonus materials provided. Lots of people are very happy with this system but some have only seen a few inches of improvement.

Conclusion

The bottom line is that The Vertical Project is a best seller for a number of reasons, and one of the key reasons is that it's very comprehensive. Given that it's now in it's third version would suggest that it clearly does work. I mean why would you spend all your time and money improving on a product if it wasn't a) selling and b) getting lots of great feedback?
